Hollandia Dairy

Client: Hollandia Dairy
Location: San Diego County Fair
2024

I don’t follow astrology, but is 2024 the Year of the Cow? For me, it definitely is. I’ve had a couple mural requests from dairy businesses this year, and besides the fact that I will never pass up good cheese or ice cream, these clients have been so fun to design and paint for.

Hollandia Dairy is a small dairy farm founded in 1949 by the de Jong family, who left their life in the Netherlands behind to bring their farming experience to Southern California. For over 70 years they have had great success and many sales without much by way of marketing at all, so they came to Pandr asking for an aesthetic upgrade to their brand.

In an effort to create an interactive experience for customers, I installed this mural on Hollandia’s booth during the San Diego County Fair. While the Hollandia team was selling milk to raise money for a local scholarship fund, I got to work painting a scene that merged the de Jong’s Dutch culture and the Pacific Ocean. The goal was to create a photo moment that could get some traction on social, while infusing a fresh feel into the decades old brand. I also worked with the team to create branded stickers that Hollandia could hand out to passersby.

Overall, I love the use of color and the style we went with for this, and had such a fun day in the sun painting this mural at the San Diego County Fair!
